Flora & Fauna

Thanks to the fact that we back onto a protected natural park there is a wealth nature visible both on our property and in the surrounding woodland.  Ranging from the Wild Boars that roam the local countryside down to the most delicate butterflies, there is an abundance of of undisturbed nature in the Umbrian hillside and valley where Poggio le Stalle is located.

To the right we have a photo of a Silver Washed Fritillary or Argynnis Paphia, and gets it’s name from the silver coloured underside of it’s wings. Its is just one of the abundance of species that our guests share their country house rental in Umbria with.

As well as the butterflies, there is also a wide variety of birdlife and of course the larger animals including wild boar, porcupines, foxes and badgers, although these are less easy to find, and often only appear after nightfall.  The peaceful tranquility of you rural retreat in Umbria will only be broken by the birdsong, crickets and sometimes even frogs each making themselves heard for those who are willing to listen..
