Outdoors

Le Stalle dates back to 1750 when it was the largest cattle farm in the neighbourhood. Bordering a nature reserve and nestled on the edge of an oak forest which stretches for miles north towards Tuscany, Le Stalle overlooks a virtually private valley and is crowned by the old frontier castle of Macchie and further to the south by the snow-covered peaks of the Terminillo Mountains. Enjoy al fresco dining on the terrace underneath the vines or sup coffee, enjoying the uninterrupted view. Guest

Set among the walnut trees is a large pool measuring 14m by 7m and 1.40 metres deep, which is also used sporadically by the owners. Surrounding the pool are ample seating and sunbathing areas shaded in parts by a large pergola. The paved pool area is given its unique charm by the surrounding greenery and established trees, the view over the valley and a delightful terraced garden with several seating areas. There are plenty of places to explore in the grounds, with old Italian wine jars adding to the ambience. Below the pool there is a bocce court (a traditional Italian boules game). Pool
Lantern There is also a lovely courtyard centred around a wood burning pizza oven and for larger groups it is possible to arrange a pizza party and/or pizza making lessons. As the sun sets, the lanterns are lit, providing a magical backdrop for those warm summer evenings.
